ABOUT: Sound Villains (NYC) produces independent film, video, and audio by filmmaker Amil Dave. In addition to making films, Amil is a sound engineer with over ten years experience. He has recorded and mixed songs for artists such as Alicia Keys, Jay-Z, Mos Def, and The Roots. Amil was also the U.S. production manger for multi-million album selling Japanese superstar Toshinobu Kubota (Sony US and Japan), and managed independent artists Sumeet and Nivla. Amil produces audiobooks for various publishers such as Penguin, Harper, Random House, Little Brown, and Audible. He is one of the five members of the NPNY Prince podcast, which he also engineers.

    Writing and directing serious independent short films, music videos, and documentaries. Also, developing and managing the career of singer Sumeet, and freelance production coordination for major label artists such as Angie Stone.
  • SR. MANAGER, CONTENT CREATION & VIDEO PRODUCTION
    Audible, Inc. (An Amazon Company), Newark, NJ
    2007 – Present
    Manage and produce all original audiobooks for Audible, iTunes, and Amazon. Responsible for managing over 30 audio editors, plus a team of post-production engineers, and a network of off-site studios across the country. Additional responsibilities include helping maintain recording studios, tech work, and publishing reports to the company. Also head of all video production at Audible, including directing and filming original spots with celebrities such as Woody Allen, Kate Winslet, Anne Hathaway, and Samuel L. Jackson.

    Responsible for all music-related articles in iStyle Magazine (3-4 per quarterly issue), including topic choices, hiring writers, and research.

    1997 – 1999, 2001-2005
    U.S. Production and Studio Manager of Sony US/Japan recording artist Toshi Kubota, who is known as the “Michael Jackson of Japan”, and has sold over 10 million albums. Supervised all studio recordings, and managed and booked his two room, SSL recording studio in downtown NYC. Tour production manager for Toshi during the Angie Stone/Anthony Hamilton 2004 Silk & Sandpaper Tour.
